When to Get Your Bridal Spray Tan: Complete Timeline

By Victoria | Southern Glow Co. — April 16, 2026

Your wedding photos last forever, and a gorgeous, natural-looking glow can make all the difference in how confident you feel walking down the aisle. As a bridal spray tan specialist serving brides all across Georgia, I've perfected the timing so you look absolutely radiant on your big day. Here's exactly how to plan it.

3-4 Weeks Before: Book Your Trial Tan

This is the most important step most brides overlook. A trial spray tan lets us dial in your perfect shade, test how your skin reacts to the formula, and figure out the ideal development time for your skin type. Our I Do Bridal Package includes both a trial and your wedding-day tan, so you never have to guess.

Schedule your trial 3-4 weeks out so we have time to adjust if needed. Some brides prefer a subtle sun-kissed look; others want a deeper bronze for contrast with a white dress. The trial helps us nail your vision.

1 Week Before: Final Beauty Treatments

Get any waxing, facials, or exfoliating treatments done at least a week before your wedding-day tan. These services can strip or irritate your skin, and you want everything settled and smooth before the spray tan goes on.

2 Days Before: The Wedding-Day Tan

The sweet spot for your final bridal spray tan is two days before the wedding. This gives the tan a full development cycle, you'll have taken your first shower to wash off the guide coat, and you'll be at peak color on your actual wedding day. The glow will still look fresh and vibrant through your reception and even into the next-day brunch.

Night Before: Prep Like a Pro

Follow our prep guide to the letter. Exfoliate gently, shave if needed, and skip all moisturizers, perfumes, and deodorants. Wear loose, dark pajamas to bed so nothing rubs off on your developing tan overnight.

Wedding Morning: Glow Time

Take a lukewarm rinse (no soap on the body), pat dry, and apply a light oil-free moisturizer. Your tan should look natural, warm, and gorgeous. When your makeup artist arrives, your skin will have that lit-from-within quality that photographs beautifully.

Don't Forget Your Bridal Party

Many of our Georgia brides book group sessions for their bridesmaids, mother of the bride, and even the flower girls (our Little Glow youth tan is perfect for younger members of the wedding party). It's a fun bonding experience, and everyone looks cohesive in photos. Check out our bachelorette and group packages for pricing.

Your Wedding Glow Awaits

Whether your venue is a barn in Monroe, a vineyard in North Georgia, or a ballroom in Athens, Southern Glow Co. will make sure you're glowing from the first look to the last dance. Our mobile service means we come to your home, hotel, or venue — wherever is most convenient.
